# Sprite Sheet Layout Planner > Plan an animation atlas with exact frame rectangles and padding. Calculate a sprite sheet canvas and the pixel coordinates of every drawing. Use the JSON rectangles in a game or export the actual sheet from Flipline. Part of usefulweb.app (https://usefulweb.app/). Results are deterministic calculations from the inputs and the listed assumptions; the API returns exactly what the web page shows. ## Use it - Human interface: https://fliplinespritesheet.usefulweb.app/ (interactive tool at https://fliplinespritesheet.usefulweb.app/tool) - JSON API: POST https://fliplinespritesheet.usefulweb.app/api/v1/calculate with a JSON object of inputs (schema: https://fliplinespritesheet.usefulweb.app/api/v1/tool) - OpenAPI: https://fliplinespritesheet.usefulweb.app/openapi.json - MCP (Streamable HTTP): https://fliplinespritesheet.usefulweb.app/mcp - tool `flipline_sprite_sheet` ## Inputs - count (integer): Drawing count - width (integer): Frame width (px) - height (integer): Frame height (px) - columns (integer): Columns - padding (integer): Padding (px) ## Method - Frames are placed in row-major order with padding around the sheet and between cells. - Width = columns × frame width + (columns + 1) × padding. Height uses the ceiling of drawing count / columns. - Columns are capped at the drawing count. Canvas limit: 16 MP and 16000 px per side. This planner returns coordinates, not an image.
